| You are cordially invited to attend a ceremony remembering the Soviet Yiddish writers murdered 59 years ago on August 12, 1952. This year we will honor their memories with a program celebrating the publication of the Biographical Dictionary of Yiddish Writers in the Soviet Union compiled by Chaim Beider and edited by Boris Sandler and Gennady Estraikh. Speaking in the program will be Dr. Itzik Gottesman (Yiddish) Associate Editor of the Yiddish Forward Dr. Jonathan Brent (English) Executive Director of the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research Appearing in the artistic program: Yelena Shmulenson and Hy Wolfe accompanied by Steve Sterner at the piano with a selection of Soviet Yiddish songs and Shane Baker with recitations. |
