Stars, Strikes and the Yiddish Stage : The Story of the Hebrew Actors' Union 1899-2005


		A companion catalog to YIVO’s newest exhibition, Stars, Strikes, and the Yiddish Stage: The Story of the Hebrew Actors’ Union, 1899–2005, is now available. A major gift from Eli Broad, businessman and noted philanthropist, made the preservation of the records of the Hebrew Actors' Union and this exhibition possible. The catalog includes a lively scholarly essay about the union and the Yiddish theater by Edna Nahshon along with posters, programs, correspondence, and other records of the HAU’s rich history.
