Stars, Strikes and the Yiddish Stage : The Story of the Hebrew Actors' Union 1899-2005

Catalogue Cover A companion catalog to YIVO’s newest exhibition, Stars, Strikes, and the Yiddish Stage: The Story of the Hebrew Actors’ Union, 1899–2005, is now available. A major gift from Eli Broad, businessman and noted philanthropist, made the preservation of the records of the Hebrew Actors' Union and this exhibition possible. The catalog includes a lively scholarly essay about the union and the Yiddish theater by Edna Nahshon along with posters, programs, correspondence, and other records of the HAU’s rich history.
Copies of the catalog may be purchased for $15.00 at the Fanya Gottesfeld Heller Book Store (917-606-8220)
YIVO members receive a 10 percent discount

The exhibition is now on view in the newly renamed Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation Gallery in Honor of Leon and Rebecca Broad
