This concert will present the music of Anton Rubinstein, one of Russia's greatest pianists, a prolific composer and the founder of the Russian School of Piano.  Compositions of a succession of Russian composers influenced by him - Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff and Shostakovich - will be performed.  A brief presentation, drawing on archival materials from the YIVO collection and other sources, will precede the concert.

This program is made possible through the generous support of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Blavatnik.
